A Pizza This

A Pizza This is a family-run pizza van that has been around for about four years. You will have almost definitely have seen them by Willen Lake, but in May 2021, they had to leave as the new café at Willen Lake, had a monopoly over serving pizzas… Of course, these pizzas are absolutely worlds apart and whilst it is a shame to see the van no longer at the usual spot, they now have a much more mobile van so can do catering for events and serve at other locations. A Pizza This pizzas are made using high quality, locally sourced ingredients and are fantastic value.

A variety of toppings are on offer atop a thin, crisp wood-fired base and gluten-free options are well catered for here as Kim and Chris are both coeliac and gluten intolerant.

You can find them on Livingstone Drive (by Gulliver’s Land and the Tree Cathedral Carpark), so still a very short walk from Willen Lake. They are also doing Friday nights at The Dove in Newport Pagnell. Follow A Pizza This on Facebook to stay up to date with their opening hours and where they’ll be next.

D’Pizza Guy

D’Pizza Guy is run by Howard Silva who is based in Hanslope. I love these pizzas because they delivered or collected 80% cooked, which means you simply put your oven up to the highest heat to finish everything off. Howard is so creative with the toppings, there are some brilliantly unique flavour combinations you just won’t find anywhere else in Milton Keynes such as Peking duck, red Indian or even Hawaiian with N’duja! (A flavour sensation!) The specials are often well worth a try, and if BBQ pulled pork is on the menu, you’re onto a winner!

The pizzas are cooked at 500C in an oven and freshly made using sourdough.

You can order from D’Pizza Guy on Facebook.

Giuseppe’s Pizzeria

Giuseppe’s Pizzeria was founded in 2018 by Giuseppe Forestiero who sought to bring a slice of Naples to the UK. The pizza is up there with the best I’ve had in Milton Keynes – the dough made fresh daily with Italian ’00’ flour and fermented for a minimum of 24 hours, giving the pizza a light fluffy texture.

We tried Chorizo ‘Nduja and the Toscana, both really delicious toppings with ingredients straight from Italy.

Giuseppe’s van can be found at St Lucia Crescent in Newton Leys on Thursdays, Apollo Avenue in Fairfields on Thursdays and Borrosa Way in Whitehouse Park on Saturdays. Giuseppe’s is at all locations from 5pm – 8:30pm and is also available on Deliveroo.

The Greedy Pizza

The Greedy Pizza is a pizza takeaway in Bletchley owned by the same family who owns The Greedy Italian. They are known for their gigantic pizzas and delicious range of Italian sides. The pizzas from here are great – crisp base, tasty dough, a huge range of delicious toppings to choose from and great value.

Louis’ Pizza

Ah I miss Louis’! I think this is going to be one of the first places I visit after lockdown. As you can see, their pizzas are HUGE, coming in at a whopping 22 inches. You can pretty much only go for two slices at a time because they’re so big, but my goodness they are delicious. It’s a New York-style base so nice and chunky but they’ve recently introduced a thinner crust. Pizzas are available by the slice or as a whole one! I can’t wait until Louis’ is open for dining in – the venue is super cool and there are some great craft beers and cocktails available.

Louis’ is currently open for takeaway and delivery to Buckingham. View the full details on their website: www.louisplace.co.uk

Made in Sud

You’ve heard me bleat on about Made in Sud SO many times, but it’s still my favourite pizza in Milton Keynes and in my humble opinion, it’s the best. Sud is absolutely authentic, on par with pizzas I’ve enjoyed in Italy! It’s the best value pizza in Milton Keynes, starting at just £4.95 for a margarita. You can find Made in Sud in intu Milton Keynes in their fabulous truck, just opposite Waterstones. They are open for takeaways during lockdown Thursday – Sunday.

Murati’s Pizzeria

Murati’s is an independent Italian restaurant with venues in Wolverton, Newport Pagnell and Olney. Members of my community group have remarked on how brilliant they are at catering for gluten-free and that the base is delicious so it’s worth a try if you struggle to find GF options. This is no-fuss pizza which is great for all the family! When they are open for dining in, you must try their half a metre and metre-long pizzas – great for celebrating with friends.

Up to date opening hours and menus can be found on their website: www.muratispizzeria.com

Nonna’s

Nonna’s recently launched a wood fired pizza menu to go with their new oven. It’s currently available for takeaway but I imagine these pizzas will feature on their menu when they can reopen for dining. I’d recommend the suckling pig pizza, a garlic bianco crème fraiche base, smoked Scamorza cheese, grilled slices of succulent pork, roasted sweet honey glazed parsnips, and caramelised white onion and apple chutney finished with pork crackling dust. Yep, its an epic pizza you certainly won’t find anywhere else in Milton Keynes! It’s among the pricier options for pizza in MK but worth it for a treat. The dough is delicious too!

Oleevo Pizza

Oleevo is has become one of our favourite and go-to pizza takeaways during lockdown. It’s very much our local and the pizzas are great. They are Neapolitan style and have all the good burnt bits on the edges which I love. They’re available as a 12 inch or 18 inch base and you can choose from their own pizzas or build your own toppings (which I prefer to do – my go-to is pepperoni or N’duja.
