Sophie etc is a Milton Keynes food and lifestyle blog helping you to discover independent Milton Keynes.

This is your guide to eating and exploring Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. My blog posts make it easier for you to find and support local businesses, inspire you to shop small and discover something new.

What do I write about?

My goal is to help you to discover a whole different side of Milton Keynes. It gets a bit of a bad rep, but I love MK and I love living here.

Food is my favourite way to spend time, whether it’s cooking it, eating it in a restaurant with friends or discovering a hidden gem on my doorstep. I created the Milton Keynes Food Guide so that you can also discover some of the best places to eat in Milton Keynes. You’ll also find restaurant reviews and recipes using local produce on here too.

If food isn’t your think, I write about awesome local businesses you can shop with as well as ideas of things to do in Milton Keynes.

Oh, and don’t miss Sophie’s Supper Club, a social dining event held in collaboration with independent restaurants in Milton Keynes. It showcases the best of MK’s food scene and give my community a really fun evening. To date, I’ve hosted events at Olé Tapas Bar, The Brasserie at Milton Keynes College and Twenty Out of Ten.

When I’m not blogging, you’ll find me walking my pup, checking out the latest street food market or doing my day job as a social media manager.

We had breakfast at The Greedy Italian last weekend after being influenced by Sophie etc. I haven’t lived in Milton Keynes for 9 years and as much as I’ll stick up for it, I left because life there in 2010 was extremely dull. I’ve followed Sophie with such joy as she discovers and champions new independent businesses in MK. It’s so nice to see the city develop a personality (finally), and I really hope locals continue to support places like this.

Sophie has been a long-term supporter of both Saf’s Kitchen and other independent street food vendors in Milton Keynes. As independent businesses, we often rely on word of mouth and social media to get our message out there. Sophie consistently recommends us to her followers which has a direct impact on our business and brand awareness in Milton Keynes and beyond!

Sophie is very supportive of local and independent businesses. She’s been amazing at promoting these businesses, including ours Good Times Cafe UK, and creating a platform during these tricky times. Her newsletter is also well worth the read to keep you updated on what’s going on too. Sophie is savvy on social media and always comes across very well and positively. She remains professional. Her photographs are vibrant and well shot which adds even more class to her content.
