Until I embarked on writing my MK Food Guide series, I didn’t think there would be that many places in Milton Keynes that did a decent brunch. When people ask me for recommendations, I do find myself struggling to think of places off of the top of my head. However, on writing these guides, I’ve discovered some real gems and headed back to some old favourites!
If you’re looking for breakfast and brunch in Milton Keynes, here are some of the best spots to kickstart your day.
Fourth & Fifth, Central Milton Keynes
I find that Central Milton Keynes is very saturated with chains, so Fourth & Fifth at Witan Gate is a welcome change. This trendy NYC style cafe is bold and bright with its yellow interior but they also serve up a decent breakfast! From pancakes to a full English to pastries, this place is a good ‘un. They also serve up amazing coffee and are one of the only places in MK to offer a bottomless brunch!

French Affaire, Stony Stratford
A very new addition to Milton Keynes, but a very welcome one! French Affaire is located in Stony Stratford in Odell’s Yard, so a little hidden from the high street, but it’s absolutely a hidden gem. Specialising in decadent French dishes, this place serves up a brilliant brunch. The menu consists of

The Navigation Inn, Cosgrove
If you fancy a bit of country air and a cosy pub feel, The Navigation is a beautiful little spot and one of my favourites. Whether you fancy a full English or something simpler, there’s something to suit every taste. My favourite dish is the sweet potato and chorizo hash which is topped with a poached egg.

Nonna’s, Woburn Sands
Nonna’s is one of my favourite restaurants in Milton Keynes and it’s my go-to if I am looking for somewhere a little classier for dinner. It also does arguably the best brunch in Milton Keynes and I’ve been so many times I’ve lost count now! One of my favourite dishes is definitely the italian benedict which is a mediterranean twist on the classic; prosciutto ham and basil hollandaise with poached eggs. Oh, and you can also order halloumi fries with your breakfast so it’s definitely a winner.

The Super Sausage, A5
The Super Sausage on the A5 between Stony Stratford and Towcester is the ultimate greasy spoon. There’s nothing fancy about it, but it’s what makes it full of character. This biker pit stop cafe is everything you probably want on a hangover. Strong tea, huge fry ups for under £8 and pints of freshly squeezed orange juice. I wouldn’t recommend heading here every day – one meal is enough to clog your arteries, but it’s such a solid fry up and has a very worthy place in my MK Food Guide.
