Where to buy a real Christmas tree in Milton Keynes

In 2019, we moved into our new house with just a few weeks to go until Christmas. I kept saying that I would prioritise moving in and getting ourselves sorted before I thought about Christmas decorations. But lo and behold, on the 10th December under two weeks after we moved it, I hot footed it to Woburn Sands Emporium after work at 5:30pm to buy as much Christmas decs as I could before they closed at 6pm. I chose a real Christmas tree (my first ever Christmas tree!) and bought a load of baubles, a star, some lights and a stand. I carried the Christmas tree myself over the threshold like I was bringing home a new bride!

As Christmas tree farms have been told they are allowed to open safely to the public, I thought I’d share a guide to where you can buy a REAL Christmas tree in Milton Keynes. In this guide, you’ll find details of where you buy your Christmas tree as well as how to support a local charity once you’ve finished with your tree in the new year.

Where to find REAL Christmas trees in Milton Keynes

Supporting local is high on my agenda this year, and a very easy way to do that is to support family-run Christmas tree businesses. The businesses featured in this guide are independently owned and are seasoned Christmas tree suppliers, so you know that your tree had been lovingly grown and cared from sapling to when you choose it to take home.

Stoke Goldington Christmas Trees

I had to start with these fabulous family-run farm based in Stoke Goldington. 2020 marks the fourteenth year of Stoke Lodge Farm selling homegrown Norway Spruce and Nordmann Fir, giving you two beautiful choices of classic Christmas trees. They’ve just planted 16,000 Nordmann Firs, so these guys aren’t going anywhere! You walk around the plantation to choose your tree and then it is cut for you. You truly can’t get fresher than that! Once you’ve chosen your tree, don’t forget to pick up a bottle of The Fruity Farmer gin or vodka to warm your cockles when you get home.

Stoke Goldington Christmas Trees is open on weekends only. 28th Nov & 29th November, 5th/6th December, 12th/13th December and 19th/20th December. If you are vulnerable or shielding, bookable slots will be available on Friday 6th and Friday 11th December.

UPDATE: Really Awesome Coffee will be at Stoke Goldington Christmas Trees every Saturday and Good Times Café will be there every Sunday serving up warming goodies!

Christmas Tree-cycling with Willen Hospice

Willen Hospice is a charity that is very close to my heart. Close members of my family have benefitted from palliative care, and I personally used their family bereavement services when I was 13 to help cope with the loss of my Grandad, who I was extremely close to. I know that many families continue to benefit from Willen Hospice’s amazing work. Their donations are 50% down in 2020 due to the pandemic, so every little extra helps!

Willen Hospice’s ‘Tree-cycling’ scheme is back for 2021. It’s a great way to get rid of your Christmas tree whilst helping a local charity. Simply make a donation, let them know your address, leave your ‘naked’ tree outside your house on your chosen collection date (2nd, 3rd or 4th January 2021) and the team of volunteers will collect your tree. They don’t raise any money for recycling the trees, it’s only from the donations given. Visit Willen Hospice’s website to find out more.
