What’s on: May

Tour De Moon Convoy

Wednesday 11th May, 6pm – 10pm, Stainer Square

Moon Convoy is a fully sustainable armada of vehicles, stopping in towns and cities across the UK. On Wednesday 11th May, it will stop in Bletchley. It features floats and interactive pieces starting with a large rotating moon that appears and disappears at night with further interactive and ultra-violet experiences. It’s a family-friendly event and is totally free.

Expect cosmic transformations through live music and DJ sets, a full-size replica of nine metre-long Archie The Squid (the first time this has ever happened) who resides at The Natural History Museum in London, talks, film screenings, an inflatable playground designed with the help of scientists at NASA SSERVI and the SETI Institute, a 9 piece Arkestra and a larger than life red phone through which visitors can talk to the Moon.

There will also be a ‘Moon Zine’ library where you can check out the full back catalogue of the boundary-breaking Moon Press, an immersive Soundbath experience – and the opportunity to record a track with a music producer – with food trucks and a bar to keep you fuelled.

Saturday 25th June, 10am – 4pm Queensway

After the success of the March Food & Craft Market, there is going to be another event in June. Last time, there were over 30 stalls, including some fab independent food traders including Fuuudge, Bucks Brother’s Gin, Fold Me Close and A Vegetative State. Local crafters like Wombat’s Woodshop also attended the event. It’s the perfect destination for gifts and sampling local delights!

Many of the vendors from the March event have signed up for June, so stay tuned! It’s going to be a good one.

If you are a local vendor who would like to be involved, email louise.salmon@bletchleyfennystratford-tc.gov.uk.

For flexitarians and vegans, this event is a great chance to try some great vegan food from various vendors. I LOVED trying new things at the vegan market in January! The ‘prawns’ from Saving Nemo were totally amazing. There is a variety of vegan-friendly businesses in attendance too. This event is hosted by The Vegan Market Co.

This is an essential date for your diary – The Bletchley Big Street Eat is going to be BIG! The event is a celebration of diversity and culture in the area through food, drink, music and art.

More information is to come soon, but if you would like to be involved, the town council are looking for food vendors or entertainers who might be available that represent a country or community. To apply, email louise.salmon@bletchleyfennystratford-tc.gov.uk.
