The food and drink at our wedding was always going

The food and drink at our wedding was always going to be a priority, wasn't it 👀Over the years of running my blog, I've met so many incredible businesses and it is the BEST getting them involved in our wedding day.Our venue is @dodmoor_house which has no corkage for the majority of the day, so we can choose exactly which wines we would like - Cheers to that! 🥂Stefan at @thewinecellarcompany hosted a lovely tasting evening for us to try some wines to match our menu which is by @chefhathome_. If you source your wines with The Wine Cellar, every couple gets this, and it was such an unexpectedly fun evening 🍷I shared our menu with Stefan a few weeks ago and he came up with some wines he felt would match the food.We tried some fizz, white, rosé and red. The red was surprisingly the hardest one to choose. Our main is beef so we wanted to find something that would suit the rich flavours.If your venue allows, I would definitely recommend reaching out to The Wine Cellar for your wedding wines! Is this one of the most unique Chef's Table experiences within 30 minutes of Milton Keynes? 😍Everything at @embernenecourt is cooked over an open fire. You guys know we love to smoke and BBQ at home, but this is next level 🔥@jamespecckk has created something really unique here. Vegetables, fish and meat are cooked right in front of you over open flames. What you see is literally what they cook on!The highlights for me were the asparagus, scallops and beef picanha. We loved sitting at the chef's table so we could grill (pardon the pub) the chefs about their techniques and different ingredients.We had the Chef's Tasting menu which was 7 courses for £55. You can also order off the regular menu which features various meat, veg and fish small plates. We'll definitely be heading back for more!I was really pleased to be able to visit Ember after choosing it as the One to Watch at the Northamptonshire Food & Drink Awards @foodawardhq last year.It's a 30 minute drive from Milton Keynes (around 10 minutes outside of Olney) or you could do what we did and stay at a hotel nearby - I recommend @falconcastleashby!#EatandExploreEverywhere #NavigatingNorthants #SophieetcEats #EmbereNeneCourt

It was so nice to escape for a night, even if it was just 30 minutes away 😌 Life has been so busy for us both recently. Juggling work, two businesses, wedding planning and maintaining a regular social life has been a challenge 😅1. Drinks and soy roasted cashews in the bar at The Falcon.2. Mini birthday cake from @oh.my.cakery 🎂3. The gorgeous Falcon Hotel which is on the Castle Ashby Estate.4. Our room at The Falcon.5. A chef's table experience like no other at Ember!
