Oh hi, beauty blogging, it’s been a while! Back in the day, Sophie etc was pretty much exclusively a beauty blog with a few dodgy outfit photos thrown in for good measure. It’s been a while since I’ve set up product shots and shared my favourite beauty finds, so I’m really excited to share this post with you. Over the past few years, my beauty buying habits have shifted to quality as opposed to quantity. I have a select few makeup products I use daily and I keep my skincare regime fairly simple too. I like fuss-free products that make me look and feel great at the same time so when I was putting this edit together I tried to keep that in mind.
Taking care of yourself is important and which is why my beauty regime is all about making me feel good and glowing before I’ve so much as thought about applying mascara!

Balance Me Congested Skin Sheet Masks, £14.40
Over the past 18 months or so, I have battled with a bout of acne which appeared to come out of the blue. I took my clear skin for granted and although I’ve now found a routine that works for me, face masks are an essential part of my routine. I like to use a purifying mask once or twice a week to really deep clean my skin and get rid of any congestion and build up of dirt. These Balance Me sheet masks are so handy for a quick fix and mess is kept to a minimum. With charcoal as one of the main ingredients, they are designed for combination and blemish prone skin leaving it feeling fresh, hydrated and clean. I simply leave these on for 10 minutes, then take off and rub the excess gel into the skin. These masks are made from the pulp of black bamboo charcoal and cellulose, so they are biodegradable!
REN Skincare Atlantic Kelp Magnesium Body Scrub £15.84
I adore body scrubs – I love that feeling of silky smooth skin! REN is one of my favourite brands and using their products feels like a proper treat. This body scrub turns your shower into the ultimate pamper session and is a great multi-tasker. Sea salt helps to enhance cell renewal and removes dead skin, whilst magnesium (Epsom) salts destress and relax. Microalgae make the skin barrier stronger and provide hydration and REN’s anti-fatigue essential oils blend make you feel revitalised. This is a godsend for post-gym showers and I love using it before bed as the scent is so relaxing.
Tisserand Little Box of Energy, £9.56
Sometimes, you just need a little boost before you go about your day. You may have seen the little roll on oils you can get to help you sleep better, but what about oils to make you focus or give you a burst of energy? This little box of energy from Tisserand contains three little roll on oil blends to help you find focus, give you an energy high or just some happy vibes. They smell absolutely gorgeous and definitely give you a little boost when you need it. They are no bigger than a lipstick case, so perfect for popping in your handbag. I roll these on my pulse points, take a few deep breaths and then carry on with my day.
St. Tropez Purity Self-Tanning Mousse, £26.34
I love fake tan and the glow it gives but I hate the faff and the stains. However, I think I might have found the perfect tan – and it leaves your sheets spotless. This clear mousse from St. Tropez dries immediately and there is no need to wash it off, so no more standing around in your bathroom naked waiting for it to dry…!
It’s a bit scary because there’s no guide colour but I managed to get a really even covering with no patches. This is a perfect tan if you are a little paler or want a bit of colour in the winter as it leaves a fairly subtle glow that you easily build upon for a deeper colour. Top marks!
bareMinerals Complexion Rescue in Vanilla, £X
I wear minimal makeup each day, but sometimes I just want a little bit of coverage if I’ve got a meeting at work. bareMinerals is a fantastic brand, but I don’t always get on with their powder foundations. This cream contains SPF 30 and anti-pollutant ingredients so I’m safe in the knowledge my skin protected throughout the day. It’s light and blends beautifully into the skin creating a dewy, natural glow.
