As we (hopefully),enjoy warmer weather we think about summer drinks from warmer places.
Our Drinks Club hosts, Alison and Tom of The Grape Society, take you on a tour of some of the highlights from Spanish and Portuguese drinking specialities.
We will be tasting a selection of Dry Sherry, Pale Ports, Herbal Vermouths, Spanish and Portuguese wines.
A fun, relaxed interactive evening of tasting and chatting, designed to refresh your memory for some (maybe) forgotten classics as well as discovering some delicious new flavours.
We will start with a classic from the south of Spain, a Rebujito. The famous spring festivals of Seville and Jerez are celebrated when temperatures reach above 80º. They are basically one long socializing session, which means continuous toasting, so this mix of dry Fino or Manzanilla Sherry with lemon/lime soda, mint and ice will get in you in the mood.
We will then sample light tangy whites including the hugely popular white Albarino wine, and some new style reds.
Join us for a guided tasting of 7 wine and mixed drink samples, tapas will also be served during the tasting.
