We all love a little tipple at Christmas and a bottle of locally made booze is sure to get you in the festive spirit. We are pretty lucky in this part of the country that we are surrounded by some great independent distilleries, gin brands and breweries which makes it even easier to spread the local love. Me? I’m partial to a gin myself, and my drinks trolley is pretty heaving with local gins! In this guide, you’ll find suggestions for beers, wines, gins, other spirits and even pre-made cocktails that you can give as gifts or buy in advance to accompany your Christmas dinner.

Bucks Star Beer
They say good things come in small packages, and they don’t get better than this minimal waste microbrewery near Wolverton. Bucks Star Beer is unfiltered, vegan and would be a perfect present for the eco-conscious beer-lover, or treat yourself and pick up a growler as a great addition to your festive drinks menu. Choose from their flagship pale ale, Steenbrugge Belgian ale or new real lager. You can order online or drop into the Brewery Tap House in Stonebridge, where you can also sit and enjoy an artisan beer, organic sourdough pizza or unfiltered prosecco for your efforts (or coffee, for the designated driver).
Perfect for gin-dependent friends and family! I know a lot of you tried this when it came out last year and loved it, so it had to be featured again in this guide. Distilled in Bucks, the Brothers’ Pomegranate and Sloe Gin liqueur is the perfect winter warmer, and a bottle would sit well on your booze shelf or certainly go down nicely with whoever you’re buying for. Combining the classic British sloe with the sweet, tart pomegranate makes for a wonderfully fragrant flavour that is perfect with Champagne, prosecco or a whole host of other mixers – let your imagination run wild.
Purchase 70cl for just £32 now via the Bucks Brother’s website. Home delivery is free if you’re in MK, or within 10 miles of Brackley, Towcester or Little Horwood.
Concrete Cow Brewery
Concrete Cow Brewery opened back in 2007, and have been supplying MK locals with quality ale ever since. Their Christmas gift selection contains three different 500ml brews packaged in a presentation box for £15, and you can even specify a preference (light or dark) and Santa’s elves will sort that out for you! If you’re just looking to stock the cupboard ahead of the festive madness then you can also pick up mixed cases, mini-kegs and more – there’s also gluten-free and vegan options available.
Order through the website via their online shop for fast and free local delivery, with UK wide delivery now also available.
Coombes Club Gin
New in 2021, the Coombes Club Gin is Buckinghamshire’s latest craft spirit company. Their new flavour – Sloe and Orange Gin – has joined their line-up just in time for Christmas, and is available in a smaller 35cl bottle (£27) but still packs a punch at 38% ABV. Try it with bitter lemon for a twist on the traditional G&T, or if you love a dry gin with a citrus finish the original Buckinghamshire Gin (£37, 70cl) works well with a slice of grapefruit and tonic.
Find both on their website and choose free delivery if you’re within 10 miles of Buckingham.
Cheers to beers! MK Biergarten is the “go-to” destination for beer lovers. Great options to pop in a stocking, fill a gift box or do a big shop that will see you right through into the New Year. They’ve also got beer advent calendars starting at £79.90, and ’12 beers of Christmas’ boxes from £42.90 should you need something to get you in the festive spirit in the run-up to the big day!

The team behind the Silverstone Distillery spirits have put together a gift experience package that is ideal for the gin lover in your life. The Gin School for Two vouchers entitles two people to become Master Distillers for the day – a truly unique experience where they can dig into the history of gin production, enjoy a complimentary G&T and table platter and be guided through the process of making their own 70cl bottle of gin to take home! For something that’s a bit easier to wrap, you could opt for a bottle of one of Silverstone Distillery’s award-winning spirits: the No1 Oak Rested Gin (£40, 70cl) distilled using their unique process utilising 5000-year-old oak, or heritage No2 Smoked Wild Apple Vodka (£40, 70cl) with its sweet, caramel taste.
All gifts and experiences can be purchased through the Silverstone Distillery website.
The Fruity Farmer
Flavoured spirit lovers – we see you! The wonderful folks at Fruity Farmer have a great range of fruit liqueurs that could tempt even Scrooge himself into a festive tipple. Their Cherry Brandy is the ideal Christmas gift and is made using Kordia cherries (grown in the orchards at Horwood Cherries in Bucks) steeped in brandy and matured for around 4 months. Coming in 200ml, 250ml or 500ml bottles it can be enjoyed on its own as a liqueur, added to a mixer or even drizzled over ice cream as a boozy decadent pudding. With a lot of other different fruit-based liqueurs also available, hit up The Fruity Farmer and you’re sure to be able to tick a couple of names off your shopping list.
Order directly via social media. The Fruity Farmer also attends Woburn Sands Community Market and Olney Farmer’s Market. You’ll also find products at Stoke Goldington Christmas Trees which is open from Saturday 20th November.
