Summer wedding dressing with Ted Baker

I love a wedding. Who doesn’t? And who doesn’t love dressing for a wedding? It is the perfect excuse to get your glad rags on and celebrate! This weekend, I headed down south towards Brighton for one of my work colleague’s weddings. They got married at Broyle Place in Lewes which was the most beautiful venue and the sun shone all afternoon for them! They had a marquee in the grounds so we could dance the night away. It was such a lovely evening and seeing two people in love and so happy is pretty infectious – you can’t help but smile.

The only weddings I’ve been to were when I was aged four and seven, where I was a bridesmaid for both. But I’m getting to that stage in life where there’s going to be a lot of weddings, so I best start stocking up on appropriate outfits…

Tie the knot with Ted

After attending their #WedWithTed event, Ted Baker kindly gifted me a dress from their ‘Tie the Knot’ range which recently launched. It caters for brides, bridesmaids and wedding guests and there are some absolutely stunning pieces in the collection. The whole range is full of the typical Ted personality – classic but fun all at the same time. I absolutely adore Ted Baker, so I did do a very happy dance when they wanted to work together!

“For summer weddings, we wear pink”

I like an excuse to dress up, and this was the perfect opportunity to put my new dress to the test! I went for this irresistibly bright pink number, which made me feel a little bit emotional when I first tried it on. It absolutely pops so is perfect for summer events. The empire neckline is perfectly accessorised with the rose gold chain collar, meaning you can afford to skip the jewellery and go for some simple earrings. The weighted, waterfall hem falls perfectly, cascading down and billowing out behind as I walked down the stairs. Ultimate Disney Princess moment.

What I’m wearing

Ted Baker Harpah drop hem dress* | Shoes – Oasis | Gold clutch bag & rose gold hoop earrings – Accessorize | Bracelet – Stella & Dot*

This dress is definitely best paired with heels as the hem drags a little on the floor (yep, even on a tall gal like me!) I wore my nude pointed heels that I bought for my gradball last year. These are trusty, fairly comfortable and elegant enough to pair with most of my fancy dresses. I am not a fan of pointed shoes, but these are an exception. To finish off the look, I chose rose gold and gold accessories to bring out the details in the dress. Job done.

Huge thank you to Ted Baker for the dress. It made me feel like a princess/flamingo/dancing lady emoji/highlighter. And also a big thank you to my lovely friend Gemma for snapping these pics and doing the dress justice!

What are you wearing to your next wedding?
