Cornwall Place Kitchen, Buckingham

Don’t shoot me, I know it’s not ~ technically MK ~ but we cover MK postcodes on this blog! And Cornwall Place Kitchen is TOO GOOD not to feature. CPK is run by George and Sarah who used to work at The Brasserie at MK College. I hosted my second Sophie’s Supper Club with them! Anyway, they opened up Cornwall Place Kitchen and it’s a coffee shop with an evening restaurant. They serve delicious coffee (supplied by Wooden Hill) and amazing food.

The brunch menu is very refreshing because it’s a bit different. It’s starkly different from most of the spots you’ll find in this guide. I recommend the CPK – the DREAMIEST breakfast bap packed with bacon. sausage patty, onion relish and a packed egg, which pops very satisfyingly when you cut into it. The French Toast is also unreal and you need to try it. The Maple Bacon is a classic but there’s also stuff for those of you who love something super sweet.

DaVinci Café, Bletchley

DaVinci in Bletchley is an all-rounder, delivering incredible food and service. It’s unsurprising really, seeing as Hannah and the team from successful pubs The Cross Keys, The Plough and The Dolphin are behind it.

Pictured below is The Italian Job breakfast (£14), featuring two eggs, two sausages, bacon, beans, hash brown, mushrooms, tomatoes and sourdough toast; and the DaVinci (£13.95) with Mediterranean sausage, cannellini beans, halloumi and mushrooms, roasted tomatoes and pitta. No eggs on my plate because I’m now intolerant – boo!

These are fully loaded plates with the best ingredients! If you’re looking for a relaxed spot for brunch with amazing food and service, add this to your list.

French Affaire, Stony Stratford

French Affaire is one of my favourite spots in Milton Keynes and it’s one that is gaining so much popularity. Tucked behind Stony’s high street in Odell’s Yard, this little café serves up some seriously good food in an absolutely gorgeous setting! I’ve featured French Affaire in my guide to the most Instagrammable locations in MK and I’m sure you can see why!

The pastel interior, rose gold cutlery and beautifully presented food make this the ultimate destination for brunch with the girls. The food most definitely isn’t style over substance either: The eggs royale crépe is my go-to and is a filled cheese and salmon crépe topped with hollandaise sauce and a poached egg. Definitely worth a visit. Make sure you check out their evening menu too!

The Game Changer Kitchen, Giffard Park

The Game Changer Kitchen is a beautiful location for brunch and is definitely one to add to your list if you are looking for child-friendly destinations. You might already be familiar with TGCK, as they had a café inside DW Fitness in Bletchley, but now have their own premises which is super exciting for them. The interior is very pink and ‘Instagrammable’, with plenty of neon and dried florals provided by Harding & Bloom.

It certainly isn’t style over substance though – Chef Nico trained at MK College (and actually cooked for Sophie’s Supper Club at The Brasserie!) The menu features some great hearty brunch options. Although BAE (bacon avocado eggs) is something I create at home regularly, not all BAEs are created equal! This was totally delicious and I will definitely be heading back for more. The coffee is also brilliant and is supplied by Wooden Hill Coffee Co.

The Greedy Italian, Fenny Stratford

The Greedy Italian is one of my favourite restaurants in Milton Keynes. In fact, it’s probably the number one recommendation I give people. It has already featured in my best restaurants for date night guide for its lovely atmosphere and epic food and now I’m bringing it to you as one my favourite brunches in Milton Keynes!

From a full English to pancakes to fancy eggs on toast and mouth-watering specials, you will absolutely find something you fancy for breakfast. The food here is seriously good and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients and everything is truly made with love! Pictured above is the vegetarian alarm clock which I didn’t make very vegetarian with the addition of bacon! They also let you order extra hash browns with your breakfast dish – sorry not sorry – so this is just another reason why The Greedy Italian wins at brunch.

The Greedy Italian also offers a bottomless brunch every Saturday from 12pm. It is £28 per person which includes two courses and unlimited prosecco or peroni.

Kiki’s Café, Central Milton Keynes

Kiki’s Café is one of my favourite spots for a weekday brunch and working session. The café has recently collaborated with Aaron Johnson from Chef Hat Home to bring a delicious new daytime menu. They serve all-day brunch options, my particular favourite being the Turkish eggs and the loaded potatoes. It’s not my favourite coffee, but I think you’ll be hard-pushed to find a better brunch spot in Central Milton Keynes that has something for everyone.

Good to know: Good WiFi and plug sockets so it is great to work in BUT sometimes they have workshops/soft play sessions. If you have young children, these are worth knowing about but worth avoiding if you’re looking for somewhere quiet to work for the day. They usually announce these on social media.

The Lodge Farm Café

The Lodge Farm Café is on Lodge Farm business park, just outside Castlethorpe. It’s not far from Haversham or Cosgrove. This is a petite café that delivers on the food! Their produce is locally sourced, with meat from Harry’s of Winslow and everything is cooked fresh in the kitchen by their very lovely team. Pictured below is the small breakfast (without eggs!) and a flat white. The surrounding area is just stunning, and if you fancy a walk, you can do a good loop towards Cosgrove or across the fields. They also have a deli menu.

Nonna’s, Woburn Sands

Nonna’s is one of my favourite restaurants in Milton Keynes and it’s my go-to if I am looking for somewhere a little classier for dinner or a date night – the food is honestly amazing and the team are great. My favourite dish is the Italian Benedict which is a twist on a brunch classic. Proscuitto ham, poached eggs and basil hollandaise top toasted sourdough bread. Oh, and did I mention they also have halloumi fries on the brunch menu? Winning!

Out of Office, Witan Gate

Ohhh Out of Office how I bloody love thee! This is where most of my money is spent during the week because not only is it such a good workspace and spot for meeting clients, but the food and coffee are unreal. They do some of the best pancakes in MK as well as other favourite breakfast dishes. Sausage and bacon bap anyone?

Rowley’s, Great Brickhill

Rowley’s in Great Brickhill is a true local gem! Located on Lower Rectory Farm and run by David and Penne Rowley, you can enjoy some of the greatest breakfast sandwiches here! The Brickhill Slider is a must try, featuring sausage patties and Brickhill black back smoked bacon from The Best Butchers, hash browns and a free range egg from Cranley Barn Farms. This is total indulgence in its simplest form!

Rowley’s also serves coffee from Milk & Beans and offers delicious sausage rolls and burgers. The star of the show is the slider though – You’ll be going back time and time again.

Good to know: Outdoor seating, dog-friendly. Good walks nearby – A good stop on the way back to MK from Ashridge Park or Rushmere Country Park.

Super Sausage, Towcester

The Super Sausage on the A5 between Stony Stratford and Towcester is the ultimate greasy spoon. There’s nothing fancy about it, but it’s what makes it full of character. This biker pit stop cafe is everything you probably want on a hangover. Strong tea, huge fry ups for under £8 and pints of freshly squeezed orange juice. I wouldn’t recommend heading here every day – one meal is enough to clog your arteries, but it’s such a solid fry up and has a very worthy place amongst the best brunches in Milton Keynes.

Cost: £

Bottomless Brunch option? No.

Upper Regency Café, Central Milton Keynes

Upper Regency has been around for a while, but it is a bit of a hidden gem that is well worth a visit. The owners are former restaurant owners and chefs, who moved to MK from Hertfordshire. The food is all made fresh to order and it’s a great little stop for brunch. Located just opposite Fred Roche Gardens, it has a lovely view of the city centre and is tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Try their eggs royale with zesty hollandaise and runny poached eggs. The smoothies are also delicious!

Website: www.upperregency.co.uk

Location: 222 Upper Fifth St, Milton Keynes MK9 2HR

The Whisk Kitchen, Woburn Sands

The Whisk Kitchen in Woburn Sands is a brunch spot-cocktail bar hybrid serving pancakes and cocktails all day. What could be better!? You can pick and mix the toppings on your crepes and there is plenty whether you like sweet or savoury. Salmon and poached eggs are a classic for me and the pancakes are PACKED with filling!

I’ve yet to try the cocktails, but the range is extensive and there is a fabulous range of delicious juices on offer too if you’re visiting on a hangover…!
