Celebrating Afternoon Tea Week

AfternoonTeaWeek(1)

Did you know that this week is Afternoon Tea Week?

There is nothing more British than tiny sandwiches, scones and tea at 4pm in the afternoon is there? I couldn't resist writing up a little post for afternoon tea week to celebrate!

Here are some ideas to help you celebrate...

Host your own Afternoon Tea party!

Afternoon tea doesn’t have to be enjoyed in a fancy location - you can host one yourself! For my 21st birthday a few years ago, my mum put on a little party for my friends and family. We made our own bunting, cobbled together some vintage tea sets and made a lot of sandwiches and scones. With a little bit of preparation, we were able to put on a tea fit for a Queen. Chin chin!

Go on an afternoon tea experience

Red Letter Days kindly sent me on one of their afternoon experiences recently. We chose an afternoon tea and spa experience to really treat ourselves. Dan and I  spent a very relaxing day at Verulamium Spa in St. Albans complete with a massage, before indulging in an afternoon tea for two*. If you are looking for a special gift or just an excuse to treat yourself (or someone else!) Red Letter Days have some great afternoon tea experiences on their website for you to explore. You could have afternoon tea anywhere from The Shard to a Barge on the River Thames if you desire!

How are you celebrating afternoon tea week?

*The afternoon tea experience from Red Letter Days was complimentary.
