Last Thursday, I headed to The Body Shop on New Street for a brand new event run by Abbigayle and her new venture, Bloggers Parlour. I absolutely love attending Abbigayle’s events, she always makes sure she puts on a good night and I always leave with a few more blogger buddies and a brimming goodie bag.
The theme for this particular evening was ‘Cocktails & Facials’ and was one of the first Bloggers Parlour events. Abbigayle kicked off the evening with a few games that helped us get to know each other a bit more. Then, we had to whizz round The Body Shop and pick out a ‘wishlist’ from their products and post a photo on Instagram. I ended up winning a goodie bag for my photo of the selection of spring essentials I chose.
After a bit of chatting and a game of Super-Charades, we then made our cocktails! There was a mini competition to name the official Bloggers Parlour cocktail. As the ingredients reminded me of a Sex on the Beach, I thought that ‘Blog on the Beach’ would be appropriate. You’ll be able to find the winner on the BP website.
For the final half hour, we sipped our cocktails, shopped and had the opportunity to have skin consultations and facials using the products. I had a train to catch, so only really had time to mooch around the store to look at some products, but this was still exciting! The New Street store had just had delivery of some of their brand new releases for spring, their CC Creams and Honey Drops. These aren’t available until the middle of May, so I was well chuffed to get my paws on one before anyone else. The CC Creams are gorgeous and are truly a glow in a bottle, so a real spring summer staple for your make-up bag. They can be mixed with foundation, or worn underneath and as a highlighter. I LOVE the versatility of this product. It comes in three shades and will be £14 each. The Honey Drops are essentially a liquid bronzer that you add to your foundation for a holiday glow to match your tan.
