We’ve all done it – late nights and one too many vodka cokes can leave you feeling terrible the next morning… Then you look in the mirror, and you’re not sure what’s worse. The spot that’s lurking on your forehead because you forgot to take your make up off or the
bags suitcases under your eyes. As a student, I’ve had my fair share of these nights and have put together a few products that mean I look a little more human when I have to leave my bed the next morning!
After applying a concealer like Bourjois’ Healthy Mix under my eyes and on any lurking blemishes, I use their Rice Powder all over my face. I absolutely love this – it’s so finely ground and slightly pink toned so colour corrects a little too. It has a little shimmer in it too which helps to illuminate the complexion too. Then I apply L’oreal’s Lumi Magique concealer along my cheekbones and brow bones. I find this the best way to apply it rather than as a full on concealer as it looks more natural. This new highlighter from No7 is perfect along the cheekbones too and helps make you look a lot more awake! I always find a bright coral lip hides a multitude of sins and distracts peoples eyes to your lips rather than your tired skin! Coral also makes your skin look brighter too.
In terms of eyes, these are three products I love. From Benefit, their creaseless cream shadow in ‘Sipping & Dipping’. The photo doesn’t do this pretty pink justice, but it’s got a little iridescence to it. It’s a peachy tone so any purple/blue tones on the eyes are gone. They’re Real! mascara is a great mascara for making your eyes look wider and more awake. If I line my eyes with a shimmery white liner like Collection 2000’s shadow pencil in Vanilla Sky, it gets rid of red waterlines and makes my eyes look like they’ve had more than 5 hours sleep…
