Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in ‘Catfight’, £15.00*.
“Creamy, badass luxury.”
Oh boy, have I been waiting to get my paws on this new release from Urban Decay. Their Revolution lipsticks are new this year with twenty shades available. Urban Decay aren’t as renowned for lip products as they are their eye shadows, but with this pigment packed lipstick, they sure will have a reputation for them.
As usual, the packaging is amazing! Even the inside of the box is patterned. I love the lipstick casing too – it’s got texture and looks really sleek and cool. Like most products from UD it stands out! The lipstick has a flat top bullet which makes application slighty trickier but I like this shape any way!
I bought the shade ‘Catfight’ – colour somewhere between red and pink. I’d describe it along the raspberry spectrum. It’s a very warm toned lipstick and I find it a beautifully flattering shade! This will look different on every skin tone – my friend bought the exact same shade but on her asian skin it looked a brighter pink.
Okay, when I say it’s pigmented, I MEAN IT. This is so saturated with colour, I can’t even describe. One swipe and it’s like POW opaque. I found it felt a little waxy when applied – it dragged slightly but once on it’s pretty comfortable to wear and I didn’t feel it dried my lips too much. You can feel it on your lips, its not totally undetectable but I’m not bothered. This colour is INTENSE. In terms of lasting power, they really do not budge. I tried this on whilst browsing the UD counter and I didn’t need to reapply it all afternoon. It does wear through eating and drinking which is obviously to be expected but it didn’t really take much of the colour away. What I LOVE about this is that it fades evenly. None of the colour hangs around the edges of your lips or in dodgy places, just fades evenly. When it’s first applied its an intense satin finish, but as it fades it does go more matte.
I’m impressed, in case you can’t tell. I’m already eyeing up a few more shades – Streak and Bang you WILL be mine. For £15 (now the same price as a MAC lipstick!) these are flippin good. The shade range is fab too – nudes to red to pinks to vampy. UD got it covered!
