on the radar for 2013...

2012 was a great year for fashion and beauty, with new concepts, trends and products, 2013 seems to have a lot to live up too. However, there's a lot of things already on my radar that I'm looking forward to in 2013, be it trends or products!

There's a lot of new products about to hit the shelves this spring; I'm probably most excited about the new liquid lip laquers from Rimmel called Apocalips! Being a lip product junkie I need at least one of these in my life, and every one seems to love them so far. These are released around mid-January, so keep your eager eyes peeled! Rimmel are also releasing their Scandaleyes Shadowsticks in the UK. I'm a fan of the eye pencils, so if they're anything to go by, these are rather exciting! We'll also be getting more colours from the Maybelline Colour Tattoo range, plus some irresistibly bright colours from the NARS Spring Collection (released in February). Urban Decay are not only releasing a whole load of new products to their NAKED range, but are releasing a new facial mist called 'Chill' which I can imagine will be rather popular in the summer months. For a more detailed post on the newest and most exciting releases of 2013, check out this post on The Sunday Girl blog!

Nail Art grew it's own cult following and micro-trend in 2012, but this year, it's set to get bigger. It's all about DIY and forget the intricate little designs, it's time to get grown up with your nails. Think clean lines and geometric patterns on your nails, and get those nude nail varnishes out again, as nude is another huge trend this spring. I'm going to taking inspiration from Nail artist, @katiejanehughes.

2012 was the year of the BB Creams, so step forwards and enter the CC Cream - Colour Correction Cream. Another beauty revolution from Asia, these aim to brighten and even the colour of your complexion, supposedly giving more coverage than a BB Cream. Looking at it, they seem more like a hybrid tinted moisturiser and primer to wear under your make up. I don't think I'll be getting soaked up in the hype! Olay have already released one in the USA, but which beauty brand will be next to jump on the bandwagon?

Just when you thought Urban Decay couldn't get any more NAKED products into their range, they've gone and made a whole load of new products to add to their range. I can't help feeling they are milking the whole NAKED thing a bit now, but I'm rather excited by the NAKED Nail Polishes and the NAKED BB Cream. Nude make up is a whole new trend this season, so will you be getting Naked with UD?

In terms of fashion trends, you can still keep your black items from AW12, and include them in your SS13 wardrobe, as Monochrome is about to hit the big time again. Think black and white, and also dig out some geometric black and white prints as well. It's all about mixing it up too; pastels are set to be big again, and wearing those pastel skinny jeans with your winter biker jacket is perfectly fine this spring, as well as lady-like florals. I'm not one to follow trends, but I will be embracing this one wholeheartedly! Head to H&M for your new season buys...

What beauty and fashion trends are you looking forward to in 2013?
