I wanted something really fresh and new to start 2013 with nail wise, so I decided to try this simple but effective design. This was all over the Chanel catwalk, with pastel pinks and metallics, but I've switched it up a little and put my own darker, wintry spin on it.
I used OPI's 'Live & Let Die' from the 007 Skyfall collection, which is a gorgeous bluey-black with a slight gold shimmer to it. I then painted Revlon's Gold Coin over the top leaving gaps near the cuticle and the edges of the nail. I think it looks quite art deco with the colour scheme, but I'm really happy with it! The gold shakes things up a bit and makes a gorgeous contrast with the black. You could try this with millions of different colour combinations, it would look good with silver and navy too!
