july the 4th

Apologies for the awful quality, this was taken on my phone! My camera WILL be back this weekend though! :-) 

I thought I'd share with you the nails I did for the 4th July! I know we Brits don't celebrate it, but I used it as an excuse to do some themed nail art...

The stripes were done using strips of tape so I got a clean line, as was the little explosion on my thumb. I used a cocktail stick dipped in white to do the stars. I used Rimmel in 'Your Majesty' for the silver, Nails inc 'Holly Bush Vale' for the red, Models Own 'Snow White' for the white, Collection 2000 'Parma Violet' for the blue, and then I did a coat of Rimmel 'Discoball' over the stars on my ring finger for some extra shine. It took me ages, but I'm so pleased with the finished result, I think the red and silver look amazing paired together! If I had longer nails it would have looked better though. It's one of my favourite designs I've done for a long time. 

I spent my 4th July at Alton Towers with my family, which was great, even though the weather was awful! I'm off to Bangor this evening to go to the University open day tomorrow, so another busy weekend!
